Ceramicist Julie Hunter Bagish and digital collage photographer Arlene Vidor are dear friends. Arlene collects Julie’s work for its simplicity and connection to the natural world. Julie’s work reflects her native Oregon as well as her knowledge of the Japanese aesthetic. Arlene, a Chicago native, has been a lifelong lover of architecture and, of late, the Los Angeles confluence of urbanscape and wilderness. As representational imagery morphs into abstraction, Arlene has found herself reinterpreting Julie’s ceramic designs via the digital photographic process and the results inspire more exploration. It might be derivative in nature or outright thievery. Something to think about and you can decide for yourself. More coming………..
